The fourth meeting of the members of Televisión América Latina (TAL) and the third taking place at DocMontevideo. The main aim of this meeting is to develop co-productions among the channels associated with the network.

TAL is a Latin American network for cooperation, sharing and diffusing audiovisual material. It is made up of more than 90 public cultural television channels in 20 Latin American countries. It is a non profit-making organization, and today it has hundreds of associates throughout the region including public TV channels, cultural and educational institutions and independent producers. They share their programs –documentaries, series and short films– through TAL.

TAL is more than just a bridge among its members, it is a web TV, an audiovisual content bank and a producer of videos. All this serves as support in TAL’s efforts to bring the peoples of Latin America closer together. The idea is for the countries in the region to find out more about each other through the regional distribution of locally-produced audiovisual material.

At the present time, TAL has a stock of more than 7,000 programs, all made by professionals in Latin America.

The TAL will receive its associates on 26 and 27 July. This will be the Network’s third meeting. The results achieved in the last period will be presented and the upcoming co-production projects TAL will coordinate will be decided on.

As part of DocMontevideo, on 25 July the TAL will launch the series Mi País, Nuestro Mundo (My country, our World), which is a co-production involving nine Latin American countries.
