La Semana del Documental 2019: Save the date!

The 11th edition of DocMontevideo will take place between July 31st and Agust 9th 2019. La Semana del Documental, its exhibition area, will be hold between 2 and 8 of August in several venues of Montevideo.

La Semana del Documental is the activity of DocMontevideo where industry and audience meet together with the films. ItsThe documentaries are presented by their creators and after each screening the audience enjoy a Q&A with them. 

The programme offers a panorama of the actual documentary production in Latin America. A great opportunity to meet the contemporary Latin American documentaries and its creators. La Semana del Documental promotes films that explores the possibilities of cinematic language and with original approaches.

During the last edition 19 documentaries were screened. Films as “Theatre of War” by Lola Arias, “Baronesa” by Juliana Antunes, “The Trial” by María Augusta Ramos, “Piripkura” by Mariana Oliva, Renata Terra and Bruno Jorge o “The Flower of Life” by Adriana Loeff and Claudia Abend, among others. We also enjoyed a retrospective of the Swiss-Canadian filmmaker Peter Mettler, who offered a masterclass in DocMontevideo; and he presented in Uruguay his last film, “Becoming Animal”, co-directed with Emma Davie.
