The open call Viewfinder for Latin America is closed

The international network Al Jazeera English closed on February 28 the Open Call for Viewfinder Latin America 2013, aimed to produce new documentary contents for “Witness”. 

530 prjects were submmited by filmmakers form different Latin American countries, most of them coming from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay. At the moment, the jury designated by Al Jazeera English is evaluating the projects, and the selected ones will be announced on April.

Ten directors will be chosen to participate in a documentary Workshop that will take place in Uruguay from May 12 to 18 at Montevideo. At the end of the Workshop, the filmmakers will have individual meetings with Witness programmers. The network will fully finance up-to-six documentaries, with a production budget of USD 40.000.
