In mid-2014, responding to a humanitarian emergency call, Uruguayan President José Mujica creates a government program to receive Syrian war refugees installed in Lebanon. Starting with the first meeting of the director with her protagonists in a refugee camp, the film accompanies the long process of adaptation of two of these families, who left behind their land and traditions to start a new life in a distant country of which they knew nothing about, called Uruguay.
