The Executive Production Lab, its a 2 days training program for producers with at least one film distributed. The Lab will take place during DocMontevideo between 5th-6th August.

Figs Jackman

Figs Jackman (UK) is Head of Global Development at Spring Films, the twice Oscar nominated, Emmy, BAFTA, Peabody, Grierson and RTS award winning production company. Recent projects include: Meeting Gorbachev (dir Werner Herzog/Andre Singer). As an Exec/Producer, recent work includes: Netflix’s Emmy Nominated City 40; and Cool Daddio: The Second Youth of R Stevie Moore which has just had its World Premiere at Sheffield Doc Fest.


Hours: 14:30 to 18:00 | Venue: Zavala Muniz Room, Solís Theater (this activity is part of the program of the Documentary Seminar).

What are the opportunities and demands of the audiovisual market for documentaries? How to deal with the big players of the global industry? Through practical examples based in the experience of the executive producer Figs Jackman we will discover how to develope documentary projects for global market.

What we need to know as executive producers to go to the next level? The work-flow for the development of a documentary project for the international market. Working with traditional TV channels or the big platforms. Practical examples about funding and co-producing.
